The short version
Collabstr is the better answer when you need a piece of content from someone you have never met, quickly. Herd is the better answer when the same creators come back every quarter and the paperwork, approvals and payments need somewhere permanent to live. The 15% creator cut is the clearest difference.
Collabstr is run from Vancouver, Canada. It suits brands who want to buy a piece of content this week without building a relationship, and creators who want inbound bookings from a marketplace rather than running outreach.
Herd is a UK product with three sides in one account. Creators run content, deals, contracts and invoices. Brands run campaigns, review content and pay creator invoices by card. Agencies run a roster with commission splits and white-label client portals. Herd costs £999/month for brands, billed in pounds. That breadth is the whole trade: Herd covers more of the week, and in a few places it covers it less thoroughly than Collabstr does.
Feature by feature
Every line in the Herd column is a feature that works today. The Collabstr column is what its own site and the listings we read showed on 21 September 2026: a dash means we could not find the feature there, and a plan name in the Herd column is the plan the feature starts on.

Where Collabstr is stronger
Nothing below is a concession for the sake of looking fair. These are the parts of Collabstr that Herd either does not have or does less well, and if one of them is the deciding factor for you, buy Collabstr.
- More than 200,000 creators with published rates, according to third-party listings, which you can book directly.
- Transparent, listed pricing per creator, which removes a whole round of negotiation.
- Escrow, so neither side has to trust the other on a first booking.
- No subscription needed for a brand to get started.
What Herd adds
The other direction. These are jobs Herd covers that we could not find in Collabstr's published feature list when we checked on 21 September 2026, taken from the same list as the table above, plus the differences in how the two are priced. Some of them sit on the higher Herd plans, and the pricing below says which.
- Nothing for the creator business outside the marketplace: no publishing, no calendar, no media kit editor.
- No Gmail or Outlook inbox and no video meetings.
- No contracts with e-signature and no proposals.
- No agency roster, commission model or client portals.
- A 15% cut of creator payouts, against 0% on a Herd invoice.
- No UK expenses, cashflow or tax reporting.
Pricing side by side

What people say
We have no data of our own on how Collabstr treats its customers, and no opinion to add. What follows is a summary of public reviews as they stood on 21 September 2026, each linked to its source so you can read them and make your own mind up. Review scores move, so check the source rather than this page.
When we checked on 21 September 2026, Trustpilot reviews of Collabstr were mixed. Recurring themes from reviewers were opaque acceptance decisions, charges they did not expect, and slow support.

Campaigns
One campaign record both sides can see
A Herd campaign holds the brief, the creators, the deliverables and the dates, and the creator is looking at the same record from their own account. That is the part a discovery tool cannot do, because the creator is not in it.
- Briefs, creator invitations, deliverables and deadlines on one campaign.
- Content review with real statuses, instead of approvals buried in a reply-all thread.
- The creator answers inside the campaign, then invoices you through it.
Herd and Collabstr, asked and answered
- No. Brands on Herd can search the creators who have joined Herd and invite them to a campaign, but there is no escrow and no listed per-post checkout. Collabstr is a place to buy content. Herd is a place to run the working relationship.
- Herd. Collabstr takes 15% of creator payouts according to third-party listings. Herd takes 0% on an invoice payment and 5% on a digital product sale. The trade is that Herd charges a subscription and Collabstr does not.
- Brands can search creators on Herd by niche, platform and budget per post, with results scored on engagement, safety and profile completeness. Agencies get an external index of more than 300 million public profiles. Neither is a marketplace checkout.
- That is a reasonable setup. Source one-off content on Collabstr, and run the creators you want an ongoing relationship with through Herd where the contracts and invoices live.
